Hinsdale Post Office

Hinsdale Post Office is home to the longest continuously operating Post Office in all of the United States. It has been in operation since 1816!

Visit the park nearby that overlooks a picturesque spillway on the Ashuelot River.  There definitely is no shortage of history to explore when it comes to things to do in New Hampshire!

I would encourage you to visit the historical markers on my home page to read about two more historical nuggets related to Hinsdale. The town has roots in the auto industry and also produced field mowers that were exported all over the world.

See the plaque below for some additional history about the elm tree and its connection to the American Revolution. Keene is known as “The Elm City” and numerous businesses there have capitalized on the name.
